LOCK PHARMACY SERVICES

Please find information about the range of services including the supply of pharmaceutical medication, health monitoring equipment and consultations. Our friendly staff are here to provide you with all the information that you need in relation to your wellbeing and your medicinal needs.

We are fully approved and authorised by the NHS and liaise with all the local doctors and their surgeries.

Prescription Information:

Dispensing: We will provide full provide full information on the prescribed medication and full instructions as how they are to be taken / applied.

We aim to delivery all prescription medication within 8 working hours.

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
Repeat dispensing: This service allows you to collect your regular repeat prescription medicines directly from your pharmacy for an agreed period of time. You will need to give your GP permission for them to share information with your local pharmacy. When you need a prescription you then get your medicines directly from your pharmacist without having to go to your GP.

PRESCRIPTION CHARGES:
In England, NHS prescription charges are currently £9.90 per item. However, certain individuals and circumstances can lead to free prescriptions or reduced costs through a Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC).

Free Prescriptions:

Age: People under 16, those aged 16-18 in full-time education, and those aged 60 and over are generally entitled to free prescriptions.

Pregnancy/Maternity: Pregnant women or those who have had a baby in the last 12 months may be eligible for free prescriptions.

Medical Conditions: Certain medical conditions and those with a valid war pension exemption certificate can also receive free prescriptions.

Low Income: Individuals with low incomes may be eligible for free prescriptions through the NHS Low Income Scheme.

Prescription Prepayment Certificate (PPC):

Reduced Costs: PPCs can significantly reduce costs if you need multiple prescriptions, especially if you are likely to get four or more prescriptions in three months or more than 14 in 12 months.

Types of PPCs: There are 3-month (£32.05) and 12-month (£114.50) PPCs, and a specific PPC for Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT) (£19.30).

How to Buy: PPCs can be purchased online or by calling the order line.

Giving back to the community

Muhammad going to the mountains, as they won’t come to him!

Over the last 3 or 4 years Muhammad has made it a compulsion to climb a mountain once a year in order to raise money for charitable organisations. A major feat for a young man n his prime. Please find below some images of the recent mountain climbs.

Mount Snowdonia in Wales

United Kingdoms 2nd Highest Mountain

[Charity / Cause: McMillan Cancer]

Muhammad and his good friend Amir have done this mountain climb twice. Good mountain to climb, but be properly dressed as it is bitterly cold at the summit. Images are from last year when we did this in a group of about 15 people.

Scafell Pike in the Lake District

United Kingdoms 3rd Highest Mountain

Muhammad, again, did this with his good friend Amir. Muhammad found this tough on the knee joints as most of the path is stones and boulders. Definite need for good footwear as there is a high risk of slipping and hurting your ankles. The last few pictures are of Amir with his daughter and their wolf from his previous climb.

Mount Ben Nevis (The Big One in the UK) in Scotland

United Kingdoms Highest Mountain

After climbing the 2nd and 3rd highest mountains in the UK, Amir persuaded Muhammad to tackle the big one, Mount Ben Nevis in Scotland. After having his arm twisted and begging for mercy, Muhammad accepted the challenge.

This was a very long, tough and arduous day. Muhammad’s phrases to describe this climb were I’m freezing cold, I’m tired and hurting, I’m hungry, What still not at the top (after 4 hours!), I’m going to kill you :-). Amir on the other hand thought it was a breeze (as he had done this climb before).

Anyway the climb was completed and money raised for charity.
